Omar Halabieh is the Head of Technology at Amazon Payment Services. In this role, he aims is to make the payment experience of merchants of Amazon Payment Services and customers of Amazon Stores the most simple, affordable, and trusted – in the Middle East and Africa region. An award-winning global technology executive, Omar leverages technology to create competitive advantage, drive business growth, improve operating efficiencies, exceed customer expectations, and transform global organizations.
Omar joined Amazon in 2015 as a Senior Technical Program Manager and has since progressed to the role of Head of Technology, delivering transformational, business-enabling initiatives with speed and agility. Prior to joining Amazon, Omar led technology teams within Direct Energy, a leading North American energy services provider, delivering numerous key IT solutions for the company.
Omar holds a Bachelor of Science on Computer Science from McMaster University of Hamilton, Ontario, and a Master of Science from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
